The hotel has been operating on a reduced scale for key workers throughout May and June
Holiday Inn Express® Bodmin – Victoria Junction officially opens its doors to the general public on 4th July, after two months of operating on a reduced scale offering discounted accommodation to key workers. It has strict social distancing and hygiene measures in place in accordance with government Covid-19 guidelines.
The 71-bedroom hotel, caters for business and leisure guests, travelling globally and locally, as individuals and families. It is the first Holiday Inn Express and IHG® (InterContinental Hotels Group) hotel to be built in Cornwall and is conveniently located on the A30, next door to the popular Cornwall Services.
Guests can enjoy a ‘grab and go’ breakfast to take away or eat in their rooms and there is some limited, spaced indoor seating along with outdoor seating and room service for evening dining. The hotel rooms are fully fitted with the latest Holiday Inn Express® ‘Next Generation’ room and design, with smart features and technology, including Smart TVs in all rooms. Between arriving guests, all rooms are totally disinfected ahead of cleaning and staff are wearing masks and other protective equipment throughout the hotel as appropriate.
Nick Smith, General Manager says:
“Our local team went above and beyond to get the hotel up and running for key workers at the beginning of May. We know that during this period of time there have been limited options available south of Exeter for people looking for an overnight stay of a similar size. We’ve had amazing feedback from key worker guests that have had to travel in or out of Cornwall.
Now, we are looking forward to opening at full capacity with our 30-strong team, welcoming the general public through the doors. We will still be setting aside rooms at special rates for key workers.”
The hotel also benefits from being next to Cornwall Services, which has recently re-opened with food outlets such as Costa, Open Oven Pizza and WC Rowe’s.
The site has ample free parking for hotel guests and access to electric vehicle-charging points.
Holiday Inn Express is InterContinental Hotels Group® (IHG®) fastest growing brand and currently has 2,700+ hotels globally.
