MRMU ltd can announce that it is drawing up plans for a major project to transform the former Peter Black Toiletries factory at Cradle Bridge, Trowbridge, into a retail and leisure development.
The plans are for a retail-led redevelopment scheme that will see the site rejuvenated after being vacant for many years. It will complement the recent regeneration of the St Stephens Place Leisure Park and plans include a footbridge across the River Biss linking to this.
The new scheme will be anchored by a large, attractively designed Marks & Spencer Simply Food store (11,000ft2 ground floor and 5,000ft2 mezzanine). There will also be a 6,500ft2 pub/restaurant and an additional two retail units of 3,000ft2 and 2,000 ft2. The £10M scheme aims to achieve a high BREEAM rating for sustainable design and construction.
Mark Upton of MRMU Ltd, said: “We hope that this well thought out development will create a lively hub, bringing with it associated jobs and an economic boost to the area. We are consulting the public on our plans over the coming months and hope to be in a position to submit our full planning application to Wiltshire Council in early 2015.”
